The Industry Committee for Emergency Lighting (ICEL) is hosting the Emergency Lighting Conference 2023 on September 14, 2023, at the Cavendish Conference Centre in London, U.K.

The committee has developed an Emergency Lighting Individual Competence Framework—a blueprint that encourages competence at both individual and organizational levels, and defines the competencies needed across several “critical domains”.

Central to this framework is “the strategic mapping of routes to competence and robust mechanisms for recording evidence. These routes encompass qualifications, professional registrations, training and demonstrations of experience and behaviour”.

“Through the ICEL Emergency Lighting Competence Framework, we are committed to raising the bar for safety and competence in our industry. This framework is a testament to our collective dedication to a safer future,” said Alan Daniels, chair, ICEL.

Against this backdrop, the upcoming ICEL Emergency Lighting Conference will focus on sharing insights from the ICEL Emergency Lighting Competence Framework.
