Forget a dark Earth Hour – Boyd Solar lights up the night

March 25, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

mt_ignoreBoyd Solar is lighting up Earth Hour this year. The company generates 100% of its power from solar and wind (since 2001, in fact). Boyd Solar is a Canadian innovator, designer, producer, user and installer of solar electric and thermal collection systems. With the renewable energy it installs, Boyd Solar is making a real, tangible impact on carbon reduction and clean energy.

INVITATION

Boyd Solar invites you to swing by for a tour of its new shop this
Saturday night, March 27 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This Zero-Emission
building possesses no backup/secondary heat source, using only energy
from the sun to support operations.

“For years we have jokingly called our lighting ‘recycled sunshine’
which is, of course, over-simplified,” remarked company president, Sean
Lougheed, adding that the power Boyd produces not only powers the
lights, “but machinery and computers as well”, and produces no
emissions.
