San Antonio-based General LED, parent company of AgiLight and GenLED Lighting, has appointed Michelle Huang as chief technology officer to lead the product development and R&D efforts.

“The addition of Michelle Huang to General LED team speeds up our ability to launch innovative LED solutions in the marketplace—strengthening Agilight’s leadership position in the signage lighting market and allowing GenLED Lighting to launch a best-in-class line of LED retrofit lamps for the architectural and retail customer base,” said Steven Moya, president and CEO of General LED.

Huang joins General LED after three years as LED Lamps Product Line Manager, North America at Osram Sylvania in Danvers, Mass. Prior to her position there, she held several LED engineering and management positions at Osram Opto-Semiconductors Inc. in Northville, Mich. She began her career in Beijing, China, where she served as an electrical engineer at the Beijing Building Design Institute of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation, and Siemens Factory Automation.

“General LED has assembled one of the best teams of technical, marketing and sales people in the industry,” she said. “I look forward to helping General LED deliver technically advanced LED lighting products to our customer base.”
