December 9, 2013 – Greenlee Communications says it has debuted a cost-effective solution for field terminating single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) fiber cables with the launch of FiberTools splice-on connectors.

According to Greenlee, the splice-on connectors were designed for low insertion and return loss and are engineered to save time when field terminating fiber optic cables. The units are available in 19 different configurations for SC, LC, FC and ST pre-polished, pre-cleaved terminations. All connectors come with a 900-micrometer boot, which helps to protect and house the fiber splice from damage. The extended dust cap is also colour-coded for simplified fiber identification.
