Sept. 25, 2019 – iDevices, a smart home manufacturer in the Hubbell Inc. family, has launched Instinct, a smart light switch with the voice-activated Amazon Alexa built in. The company states that the product combines the benefits of a Wi-Fi enabled smart switch with integrated voice control, which it says allows users to use voice control throughout their home, without the clutter of cords and hubs.

The company says the Alexa-enabled device accepts voice commands that can control all of iDevices’ products, including smart lighting, power and HVAC solutions, as well as any other Alexa-enabled smart device. The company also notes that the product can be controlled, managed and automated remotely using the Amazon Alexa app, and can also use the app to access more than 90,000 Alexa skills, including its on-demand personal assistant feature. The hub-free Instinct is compatible with iOS and Android devices.

Instinct was built with Soen Audio technology, dual-microphone design, an LED light ring, customizable LED night light, custom faceplate and silicone-coated wiring.

The company states that additional music and streaming services, as well as motion and light sensor functionality, will be included in future updates.
