Make informed energy decisions with new Eaton Power Xpert 200E gateway

July 18, 2012 | By Anthony Capkun

July 18, 2012 – Eaton Corp. launched Power Xpert 200E gateway, a solution that collects energy usage data from meters, enabling customers to benchmark energy usage, set energy management goals, determine the effectiveness of energy management initiatives, and reduce energy costs. The Power Xpert 200E gateway reports on energy usage at the device, building and campus levels, indicating energy usage trends and developing a baseline to enable customers to maximize energy efficiency. The gateway is engineered to be used as a data acquisition tool for serially communicating energy meters through an embedded web server or connect to ethernet-based applications, including enterprise management, demand response and smart grid programs. With the Eaton Digital Input Module, the Power Xpert 200E gateway can also monitor and water, air, gas, electric and steam meters, so that customers can monitor energy usage patterns and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvements. No software is required to access energy data, yet the data is importable into other systems.
