December 13, 2011 – Motion Computing, a provider of tablet PCs and supporting mobility solutions, has introduced the CL900 SlateMate, which it describes as the industry-first productivity tool that extends the functionality of the CL900 Tablet PC. It includes a magnetic stripe reader (MSR) and barcode scanner (BCS) for mobile data acquisition and processing. According to Motion, SlateMate’s integrated MagTek MSR documents I.D. cards with a single swipe, while the commercial-grade BCS reads virtually any barcode, vital when scanning building components or electrical equipment to access essential information, such as installation data or maintenance schedules during inspection or repair.
