The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA, www.nema.org) has completed SG-AMI 1-2009, “Requirements for Smart Meter Upgradeability”, its first smart grid standard.
SG-AMI was developed by a team of meter manufacturers and electric
utilities to provide guidance when deploying advanced metering
infrastructure. The National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST) is will offer the “Smart Grid Interoperability Roadmap” as an
in-depth alternative in several years.
SG-AMI is available for download at no charge at www.nema.org/stds/sg-ami1.cfm.
