February 19, 2019 – During March Break, Hydro-Québec will offer free guided tours of its Beauharnois generating station, one of the world’s largest run-of-river hydroelectric plants.

The 90-minute tours will discuss both the science and the history behind the station, which was built in 1932 in art deco style, is a designated national historic site and comprises 36 generating units across nearly 1 km. The facility also features an interpretation centre (see video for overview).

The tours will run from Mar. 2 to 10 at 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. ET. Spaces are limited and reservations are required. For more information, click here.
