Osram offers a new systems combining Sylvania 47W Pentron HO Supersaver Ecologic lamps with Quicktronic PROStart T5HO electronic ballasts. Osram claims this system delivers comparable light levels to full-wattage T5HO systems while reducing power consumption by 13%. The 47W lamps are available in a nominal 4-ft length, featuring initial lumens of 2575, 93% lumen maintenance and a life of 30,000 hours (3 hours per start) and 40,000 hours (12 hours per start). They complement existing 4-ft (50W) and new nominal 2-ft and 3-ft (20W and 35W, respectively) Pentron lamps, which are available in a choice of correlated colour temperatures ranging from 3000K to 5000K, all with a CRI of 85. With the ballasts, more optically efficient one-lamp fixtures can be used in place of two-lamp models, thereby halving lamp inventory. The programmed rapid-start operation mode of these ballasts makes them suited to occupancy sensor applications.
