Power-Packer offers light- and heavy-duty stabilization systems

October 26, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

October 26, 2013 – Power-Packer—a manufacturer of position and electro-hydraulic motion control solutions—has released new light- and heavy-duty stabilization systems.

The light-duty series targets cranes and bucket lifts, with boom stabilization capacity up to 6000 lb (38,000 ft-lb). The system employs a 12V electric/hydraulic pump with manifold to power down two hydraulic legs, and a long power out cylinder to stabilize the rear of a utility crane or bucket lift truck (a manual out version is also available). The system can be run off of a PTO or self-contained power unit. The legs feature a 20-in. stroke and have a 36-in. outrigger extension.

The heavy-duty series can handle 10-20% side load capacity, depending on stroke (lengths range from 12 in. to 63 in.). Optional upgrades include a newly designed universal footpad and mechanical locking feature. The system is equipped with counterbalance valves to provide a relieving function and integral load holding. The relieving function optimizes performance, reduces leak points and protects against thermal expansion. Integral load holding creates positive load holding in case of pressure loss.
