March 6, 2019 – Weather Guard has introduced what it calls the industry’s first truck box with integrated lighting, to increase visibility of tool storage for electrical contractors and other professionals.

Designed for compatibility with all full-size trucks in North America, the Weather Guard 127 Saddle Box with integrated wiring can reportedly be installed within 30 minutes. The box’s wiring harness must simply be connected to the truck’s power supply to activate its pre-installed LED system. When the lid is opened, the stored tools and equipment are illuminated.

The rear-mounted lighting meets IP 66 requirements for durability against water and dust infiltration and features frosted diffusers to eliminate glare.

“We developed this storage system based on customer feedback,” says Brian Kagen, senior vice-president (SVP) of marketing and product development for WernerCo, the manufacturer behind the Weather Guard brand. “We are striving to solve real-world jobsite challenges.”

Light upgrade kits are also available to retrofit existing Weather Guard 127 Saddle Boxes.
