March 24, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

March 24, 2016 – BC Hydro and ABB will be throwing up cheers, as each scored in the top three on Forbes Canada’s Best Employers of 2016 list. And they weren’t the only electrical industry players to make the cut. A toast also goes out to Toronto Hydro, EPCOR, SaskPower, Hydro One, Hydro Quebec, 3M, Work Safe BC, Manitoba Hydro, ATCO Group, and Siemens.

The rankings are based on the responses of more than 8000 Canadian employees calculated by online statistics provider Statistica.

Survey respondents were asked to rate the likeliness on a scale of one to 10 they would recommend their employer to someone else, as well as their feelings toward other employers in their industry. Forbes’ final list contains 250 employers spreading across 25 industries.

“ABB in Canada stands for performance, innovation and great customer service, and we’ve built a culture here to reflect these values,” said Fannie Jacques, with ABB in Canada. “We also know that our focus on wellness results in happy and healthy employees, a return on investment that also keeps our customers happy with us. Building a better world with core values of employee development, safety and integrity, is our mission.”

ABB slid into third place, while EPCOR ranked 18th.

“We’re proud to provide our employees with the tools they need to grow,” EPCOR stated, “and do work that matters more for the more than 100 communities that count on us to deliver safe, reliable electricity and clean water, every day.”
