May 27, 2013 – When at MCEE 2013 in Montreal, Que., last month, we noticed the Square Register, a free application for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, serving as a full point-of-sale system for those who need to accept payment on-the-go. Square enables merchants to accept credit cards, track sales information in real-time, and monitor daily reports from their smartphone. Funds are automatically deposited into the associated bank account daily. Additional features of Square includes a customizable item library, item-level analytics and a transaction rate of 2.75% per swipe. Square is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
