Accurate Controls says its FireFly fused cutout indicator makes finding a dropped fuse cutout simple and quick. When the fuse cutout drops to the inverted position, the FireFly indicator is activated, flashing a high-intensity LED. This LED can be seen up to a mile away so, at night, line crews can keep their eyes safely on the road while searching for that fuse. The reusable FireFly is housed in a UV-stabilized, epoxy-encapsulated enclosure, keeping out moisture and other contaminants over a 25-year service life. Installation on a live fuse is done with a shotgun hotstick, and can be installed by hand on a fuse before re-installing it.
