AFL has added the ST connector, a fusion¬spliced, field¬terminated connector designed with four components, to its FuseConnect line. All connectors–the SC, LC, FC, and now the ST–are said to consist of a factory pre-polished ferrule. AFL says it utilizes a fusion splicer to terminate the connector in the field, which addresses return loss concerns present in analog optical networks. Cable types include 900µm, 2mm and 3mm and polish types of UPC, APC, and PC.
