August 2, 2012 – Alcatel-Lucent claims to have simplified the network management function for utilities with its new Service Portal Express for Utilities. With its “intuitive user-friendly interface”, access to informative network reports and utility-specific language, the solution handles daily network management tasks, such as provisioning new network services, troubleshooting problems and creating reports, which traditionally require in-depth knowledge of the network technology involved. The portal also serves as a solution to those utilities unsure of how to manage their network after adopting to smart grid communications, says Alcatel-Lucent.
