February 10, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

February 10, 2014 – NTT has launched a collaborative study with Alcatel-Lucent Japan and Fujitsu to develop new server technology and enable early feasibility checking of the technology, which they say will allow them to develop service applications at an early stage.

The collaboration aims to expand and apply the resulting technology to support other fields that require reliability, scalability, and maintainability in the communication network field. According to the partners, they hope to see this technology spread and become a global standard.

In the alliance, NTT will provide the telecom carrier requirements and the core technology for distributed computing with scale-out and redundant architecture, and Alcatel-Lucent Japan will provide the technologies for server virtualization and orchestration that meet the requirements of telecom carriers.

Meanwhile, Fujitsu will provide the systematization of distributed computing and to provide maintenance and operation technology of scale-out communication control server.
