January 26, 2015 – A wider range of Cat diesel generator sets for North America are now available, announced Caterpillar Inc. earlier this month.

Caterpillar claims it now offers the widest range and deepest selection of diesel gensets with International Building Code (IBC in the U.S.) certifications and OSHPD seismic preapproval, including the only 4 MW diesel generator set on the market today that has earned both designations. These sets have been certified to meet the seismic provisions of all published editions of the (IBC), the company added.

To date, Caterpillar said it has received certifications for a total of 20 models of 60-Hz Cat diesel generator sets ranging from 11 kW to 4 MW, and 11 models of 50-Hz generator sets from 910 kVA to 4 MVA. The enclosed models of C27 and C32 generator sets have also received IBC certification up to a 120-mph wind load, Caterpillar said.
