July 7, 2023 – Industrial contractor Chemco (Nisku, Alta.) has formed a new partnership with Horse Lake First Nation Oilfield Construction Corp. (HOCC), calling it a “pivotal step that will reshape the energy industry in northwest Alberta”.

“The synergy of HOCC’s intimate local expertise and Chemco’s capacity for large-scale operations signals an exciting time for the resources sector throughout the region,” says Chemco.

Owned by the Horse Lake First Nation Band, HOCC possesses over 10 years of experience providing civil contracting services to the resources industry.

Chemco was originally incorporated as Doug Smith Electric back in 1963, and has since grown into multi-disciplined industrial contractor.

“We are excited about what this means for both our companies and for the communities we serve,” said Bryan Lunge, vice-president, Marketing & Communications, Chemco. “Together, we can leverage our combined expertise and resources to ensure a more sustainable and prosperous future for the industry.”

The partnership is not just about business growth, Chemco notes, but a shared commitment to ethical operations and respect for the lands in which the companies operate.
