Cooper Bussmann develops photovoltaic and wind CubeFuses

September 10, 2012 | By Alyssa Dalton

September 10, 2012 – Cooper Bussmann has expanded its CubeFuse offering to include photovoltaic (PV) and wind power generation fuses, both of which feature a finger-safe CubeFuse design that delivers a footprint that is up to 80% smaller than other fuse solutions, it says. According to Cooper Bussmann, the fuses also offer limited exposure to live parts for increased safety. Listed to UL 2579, the PVCF photovoltaic version is designed to protect PV cell arrays by responding to the lower fault current levels encountered in solar installations, and withstands temperatures ranging from -40ºC – 90ºC. Recognized to UL 248, the WCF wind power version is rated at 690Vac and available in ampacities from 1 to 100 amps along with special 30, 60 or 100A 690V rated ampacity rejecting holders that help minimize overfusing.
