Exfo has launched the intelligent Optical Link Mapper (iOLM), an “innovative” test solution that enables faster FTTx network characterization and provides an 85% time gain over the currently used OTDR test method, it boasts. At the core of the solution, it fully automates the setting of complex OTDR acquisition parameters and presents a pass/fail status of the FTTH network. This, it says, helps service providers to deploy PON links in a much easier way and allows installation teams to operate with minimal training.
