Former EECOL leader Tom Crist donates entire $40M jackpot

December 20, 2013 – As published in the Calgary Herald and other media outlets, EBMag has learned the Calgary, Alta., man who plans to donate his entire $40-million lottery prize is Tom Crist, former president and CEO of EECOL Electric.

The Calgary Herald reports he will spread the winnings across various charities, including the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in memory of his wife, who passed away from cancer two years ago.

This September, Tom retired from EECOL and handed over leadership to Darren Buium, thereby concluding his 43+ years with the company. Tom joined EECOL in 1970 in the warehouse, and worked his way up to president (2007).
