Greenlee, a Textron Inc., has launched its “new and improved” bi-metal reciprocating saw blades, which it claims are proven to cut up to 25 percent faster and last up to 45 percent longer than the competition. Materials Engineering Inc. conducted the comparison test–testing was performed cutting 2-in Rigid steel pipe at 1500 RPM with a 20-lb load. “Greenlee had the highest average number of cuts (29) and the quickest average time to cut (32.9 based on the first 10 cuts) than the competition,” it said. The new Greenlee reciprocating saw blades are made from bi-metal material with cobalt, and packaged in a new re-closeable vinyl pouch.
