IEEE SmartGridComm 2011 announces ‘call for papers’ deadline

February 3, 2011 | By Alyssa Dalton

The IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid Communications (SmartGridComm) has announced April 4, 2011 as the ‘call for papers’ deadline for its second annual event to be held October 17-20, 2011 in Brussels, Belgium. All interested researchers, industry professionals and government officials are urged to CLICK HERE for specific submission details.

Hosted by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), IEEE SmartGridComm
showcases the development and upgrade of global smart grid
communications, ranging from remote metering and improved cyber-security
to enhanced data retrieval and on-road vehicle recharging.

This
year, organizers have added one extra day to the program of events. The
agenda will start with a full day of workshops and tutorials, then
proceed with three days of keynotes, panels and technical papers on
global efforts to facilitate the production, delivery and use of
electricity worldwide.

“We are extremely proud of the early
success of IEEE SmartGridComm and its comprehensive pathways for
addressing the economic, environmental, technological and societal
urgency for increasing energy independence and revolutionizing the
management and control of energy worldwide,” said IEEE SmartGridComm TPC
Co-Chair Chris Develder from Ghent University – IBBT, Belgium.
