April 28, 2015 | By Renée Francoeur

April 28, 2015 – The IESO want you to put those thinking caps on. Its Education and Capacity Building (ECB) program is now accepting proposals until June 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m.

The 2015 ECB program will fund initiatives proposed by First Nation and Métis communities and organizations, co-ops, municipalities, public sector entities, registered charities and not for profit organizations. Projects can include awareness campaigns, material and course development, workshops and education programs that are helping to meet the needs of communities and organizations while contributing to the ongoing development of Ontario’s diverse resource capabilities.

The 2015 Call for Proposals will support initiatives in four main categories:

• Education and safety training for First Responders for emergencies related to renewable energy facilities.
• Building skills and developing capabilities of staff or community members.
• Reducing diesel in remote Ontario First Nation communities.
• An open category for unique and innovative initiatives that fill a gap in the sector.

The target dollar amount available for the 2015 Call for Proposals is $1,000,000.
