January 24, 2013 – Mersen, a global player in circuit protection, introduced the USG Series UltraSafe fuseholders with spring terminal Cage Clamp technology. This screwless, spring-pressure wire termination technology can reduce wire installation time and cost by up to 75%, says Mersen, adding that it is now the first manufacturer to offer this technology in a power fuseholder. The Cage Clamp technology improves system reliability by maintaining a very low contact resistance, easily withstanding corrosion, vibration and temperature cycling, says the company. The technology also eliminates the need for routine torque maintenance required by screw-type terminations. The USG Series is available for class CC, Midget and Photovoltaic fuses, and include all of the features of the original UltraSafe, such as IP20, DIN-rail, compact footprint, and optional visual blown fuse indicator.
