NEMA publishes ANSI/NEMA WC 71 ICEA S-96-659-2014 for non-shielded cables

October 20, 2015 – The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published ANSI/NEMA WC 71 ICEA S-96-659-2014 Nonshielded Cables Rated 2001-5000 V for Use in the Distribution of Electric Energy. This standard applies to materials, constructions, and testing of 2001 through 5000V non-shielded power cables having insulations of thermoplastic polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene or cross-linked rubber.
Last published in 1999, this document was developed by the Insulated Cable Engineers Association’s (ICEA) Power and Control Cable committee and NEMA as an American National Standard, and is for users and producers of insulated cable.
