A percentage of the company’s sales from December 6 will be remitted to several causes, such as hospitals, children’s charities and health-related research, as well as organizations that support the less fortunate, the homeless, family support groups, etc.
This year, Standard’s office employees (Human Resources, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales and Quality Control) helped the Distribution Centre get orders picked, packed and shipped.
The original Donation Day dates back to 1999 when one of Standard’s employees was diagnosed with breast cancer. The company wanted to show its support by making a donation to support cancer research. That initiative grew to become Donation Day, which has raised over $500,000 since 2004.
