January 28, 2015 | By Renée Francoeur

January 28, 2015 – From a new thermostat to plug-in kits, Nuheat says it’s has winter and blizzards covered.

The electric floor heating systems manufacturer recently unveiled what it dubbed “the next generation of thermostats,” featuring the “Signature.”

Signature is the first and only Wi-Fi controlled thermostat for floor heating in North America, claimed Nuheat. It also comes with weather updates, energy monitoring and remote access via free smartphone apps or a web browser.

Additionally, to protect homes and families during winter storms, Nuheat recommends its roof and gutter kits to prevent ice dams.

Cable kits are placed inside gutters and downspouts to “create and maintain drain paths or water, avoiding serious harm to your roof, gutters, paint, insulation, drywall, structure and even mold prevention,” said Nuheat.

The plug-in cables use self-regulating technology to automatically adjust the heat output based on the surrounding temperature, added the company, and they are suitable for shingles, metal, plastic, tar and wood roofs as well as metal or plastic pipes.
