Nuheat launching North America’s 1st Wi-Fi floor heating thermostat

January 7, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

January 7, 2014 – Nuheat—a manufacturer of electric radiant floor heating systems—says it is launching North America’s first Wi-Fi floor heating thermostat: Nuheat Signature.

Signature promises to give homeowners full access to all thermostat settings with wireless remote access through a smartphone app (iOS or Android) or web browser. Changing the temperature or schedule, or viewing energy usage will all be at the homeowners’ fingertips. “Our new thermostat allows the user to activate the floor heat for vacation properties or to simply turn up the heat for a cozy return home,” said Wally Lo, Nuheat’s product manager.

The UL-approved dual-voltage thermostat is 802.11 b/g/n compatible, secure (WEP, WPA and WPA2) and suitable for tile and stone floors (it has a temperature-limiting feature for laminate and engineered wood). With a built-in Class A GFCI, its 15A relay controls up to 150 sf (120V) and 300 sf (240V), and will be priced at $265 US.
