Omron bolsters Western Canadian expertise with Garrity, Abuhamdan and Joaquin

September 7, 2018 – Omron Canada, which provides sensing and control products for industrial automation, has hired Sean Garrity as territory account manager for British Columbia, Bashar Abuhamdan as account manager for Southern Alberta and Michael Joaquin as safety services specialist.

Garrity has worked as a consulting engineer for power generation, public safety and bulk material handling activities and is chair of the IEEE Canada Young Professionals comittee. In his new role with Omron, he will report to Josh Yates, regional sales manager for Western Canada.

Abuhamdan, meanwhile, has more than 22 years’ experience in sales and marketing across the electrical, construction, oil and gas sectors, including stints with Schneider Electric, 3M and Honeywell, and has provided engineering consulting services and channel partner management. In his new role, he too will report to Yates.

Finally, Joaquin is an electric engineer with more than 17 years’ professional experience, including management roles in the automotive manufacturing sector. He was a member of the technical committee for CSA Z432-16, ‘Safeguarding of Machinery.’ He will now report to Brett Lupton, Omron’s sales manager for advanced sensing and safety.
