Osram Sylvania’s latest LED offering is the Ultra High Performance Series, which is designed to be a direct replacement for standard incandescents, halogens and CFLs. The LED lamps promise increased lumen output, dimming functionality and indoor/outdoor ratings. Mercury- and lead-free, Ultra LEDs are an environmentally preferable alternative to existing light sources, and are suitable for commercial and residential applications. The most recognizable residential lamp is the A-line; the 8W Ultra A-Line replaces a 40W incandescent. It lasts 16x longer than an incandescent bulb and six times longer than CFLs, and boasts dimming capability. The series also includes various PAR, MR16, A17 and G25 lamps.
