Osram Sylvania introduces new LED retrofit lamps

December 22, 2010 | By Alyssa Dalton

North American lighting provider Osram Sylvania has introduced its new dimmable LED 2700K retrofit reflector A-Line, PAR and Globe Lamps as an energy-efficient alternative to common halogen reflector lamps.

As part of the ULTRA High Performance Series, the second generation LED retrofit product line, these lamps are said to reduce energy consumption by up to 84 percent and provide up to 20 times more life compared to the halogen lamps and 60W A-Line incandescent bulbs they replace, says Sylvania.

“With a rated life up to 50,000 hours (L70), the A-Line, PAR and Globe Lamp retrofits make an ideal energy and cost alternative. The 6W MR16, 8W PAR20, 15W PAR30LN and 18W PAR38 lamps and are high quality replacements for 20W MR16, 50W PAR20, 50WPAR30 and 75WPAR38 halogen lamps respectively, and are offered in 25° and 40° beam spreads,” reads the company statement.

Additionally, the PAR20, PAR30 and PAR38 lamps are now available in 2700K, as well as 3000K with 85-89 CRI.

All PAR lamps are damp location rated and RoHS compliant, free of lead and mercury, and emit no UV or IR radiation, which help minimize discoloration and fading of materials.
