Over 300 industry peers gather for 2023 Federation Cup

August 24, 2023 | By Anthony Capkun

August 24, 2023 – The day started cool and overcast, ending with warmth and sunny skies… just about perfect weather for Electro-Federation Canada’s 21st Annual Federation Cup Golf Tournament, held yesterday at Deer Creek Golf Club.

Besides bringing together 300+ electrical manufacturers, distributors, and manufacturer reps for a day of camaraderie and networking, the annual golf tournament serves as a fundraiser for EFC’s Scholarship Fund, which helps support university and college students interested in pursuing careers within the electrical industry.

According to initial numbers, this was the highest-attended Federation Cup to-date.

As usual, both EFC and Deer Creek staff and volunteers—not to mention sponsors—could be counted on to help make the day unfold as smoothly and enjoyably as possible.

There are so many pieces to this chessboard—bag drop, swag, breakfast, lunch, ice cream, refreshments, putting contest, dinner, awards, and much more—yet everyone made it all seem like a cakewalk. Well done!

Aside from bumping into people I may not have seen in a while, I always enjoy the surprise of finding out who my cartmates are—and, hopefully, forging some new friendships over the course of the day. (To that end, thank you Peter S., Mark K., and Matt S. for doing all the heavy lifting!)

The next networking opportunities on Electro-Federation Canada’s schedule include:

• Golf tournament (Quebec Region)
• Economic Forecast Day
• Niagara power station tour and networking reception (Ontario Region)
• Holiday receptions in Quebec City and Montreal, and in the Ontario and Atlantic regions
