To answer that question, Electro-Federation Canada’s “Motor & Generator” business section has developed an industry portal (with downloadable checklist) to help consumers make better buying decisions about electric motors, addressing questions such as:

• What to look for when purchasing electrical products online (safety checklist).
• Which electric motors and generators require certification?
• What standards are used for these products in Canada?
• What do the certification marks look like?

The portal covers compliance standards of which buyers should be mindful, including checking for certification marks and purchasing from trusted sources.
