RECALL – Stelpro Design recalls electronic thermostats

January 4, 2012 – The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is notifying the public that Stelpro Design has announced a voluntary recall of the:

Electronic thermostat, models STE402NPW, STE402NPW5, STE402NPW24, STE403NPW24.

Model numbers and the manufacturing date (1108) are visible on the lower back on individual units. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately.

The hazard: smoke and soot upon installation. At this time, no incidents or injuries have been reported. The units were manufactured in Quebec by Stelpro Design. Approximately 10,000 units were sold in Quebec between August 10 – September 1, 2011.
