October 22, 2011 | By Anthony Capkun

October 22, 2011 – Schneider Electric’s new Square D PowerLogic ION8650 meter is the latest evolution in the company’s line of revenue and power quality meters. The ION8650 contains twice the accuracy of the ANSI C12.20 Class 0.2 & IEC 62053-22 Class 0.2S standards, says the company, including a single Class 2/10/20 current range, and will also monitor sags/swells and harmonics, capture transients and waveforms, and comply with the international quality-of-supply standards EN 50160, IEEE 519 and IEEE 1159. The meter offers connectivity with the latest substation protocol, IEC 61850, in addition to both Modbus and DNP. Also of note are the Square D PowerLogic ION8650 meter’s improved support for NERC CIP compliance and Schneider’s customer support.
