Stewart Connector released the RoHS-compliant SS-39200 Series of Cat 6a 8P8C modular plugs—the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of connectors engineered for a “range of high-speed networking and computing applications”. The SS-39200 Series’ mechanical design comprises both a wire aligner and load bar to facilitate consistent twisted pair orientation during assembly. The aligner is designed with a patent-pending “cross talk zone” that introduces an amount of cross-talk to the plug to allow for centred NEXT (Near End Crosstalk) performance (as per IEC 60603-7-51 component requirements and ANSI/TIA-568-B.2-10 transmission performance specs for 4-pair 100Ω Cat 6a cabling. Parts accommodate typical 24-ga to 27-ga solid or stranded cable. Plug, load bar and wire aligner are manufactured of UL94-V0 polycarbonate and feature 50 gold-plated contacts. Additional specs include an operating temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC, and durability of 750 matching cycles. Voltage rating is 150vAC while the current rating is 1.5A @ 25ºC.
