January 3, 2023 – Ottawa is helping Stratford, Ont., install 23 electric vehicle chargers in public places by providing $160,000 toward the cost of the initiative.

The City of Stratford has put $317,428 toward the project, which is expected to be complete by 2025.

“The use of the EV charging stations will benefit our local residents and the 1.5 million+ yearly visitors to our city,” said Martin Ritsma, Mayor, City of Stratford. “This project certainly blends well with our city’s strategic priorities, which includes the 30% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.”
