Tyrone Varga to lead ABB’s Large Motors & Generators Division–Canada

November 25, 2021 – Tyrone Varga has been appointed head of ABB’s Large Motors & Generators Division in Canada, where he is responsible for leading efforts to support the sales and marketing for large motors and generators, and integrate with ABB’s existing Motion Business team.

“I look forward to connecting with old and new customers,” said Varga. “I want our Canadian customers to know that we are always there, whenever they need us.”

Varga possesses over 20 years of experience in sales and market development in the electric motor industry in North America. His previous roles include senior positions at Shermco Industries and TECO-Westinghouse Motors in both Canada and the United States.

“I am confident that our partners and customers in Canada will benefit from his experience and leadership,” said Daniel Cotton, vice-president, ABB Motion Business.

A graduate of Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology, Varga is an active member of IEEE, having held volunteer positions on local committees for PCIC (Petroleum & Chemical Industry Committee) since 2005.

From 2008 to 2019, he supported the American Petroleum Institute subcommittee for motors in the development of the API 546, API 541 and API 547 standards.
