NEMA publishes MG 1-2014 “Motors and Generators”

December 23, 2015 – The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA in the States) has published MG 1-2014 “Motors and Generators”.

This standard assists users in the proper selection and application of motors and generators. It contains practical information concerning performance, safety, testing, construction and manufacture of AC and DC motors and generators, says the association. Changes in this edition include encompassing small motor premium efficiency values for capacitor-start/induction-run single-phase, capacitor-start/-run single-phase, and three-phase induction machines, as well as KW-equivalent efficiency ratings. The standard is in both hard and electronic formats.
