Warning: Potentially hazardous Advanced Energy Renewables Inc. inverter/combiner box

April 27, 2018 — Intertek has issued a warning that the permanently-connected, utility interactive, three-phase inverter/combiner box, model 869R020 .100 AE_3TL-20_6, may pose a fire hazard. Certification of these products was terminated in 2015.

There have been two known fire incidents, resulting in the front cover of the product being expelled from the inverter.

The product has a cETLus certification mark with Control Number 4009258, identifying the model as 869R020 .100 AE_3TL-20_6.

The warning impacts at least 550 units sold at unknown locations. The products, manufactured by Advanced Energy Renewables Inc., dba AE Solar Energy, should not be used and returned to the point of purchase. Distributors and retailers should discontinue sales and return al inventories to their suppliers.
