Westinghouse launches LED line at Lightfair 2010

August 22, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

Westinghouse Lighting launched an LED lamp line with patented designs that, the company says, optimize lamp life and performance. The LED technology features anodized silver housings for cooler operation; rated at 50,000 hours, the PAR LEDs last up to 25x longer than halogens, boasts Westinghouse, while the MR16 LEDs last up to 5x longer than conventional MR16s. The LED optics create a uniform beam and provide stronger and more focused light output than CFLs, the company asserts. With a high CRI (Colour Rendering Index), the company says the LEDs are direct replacements for comparable incandescent, halogen and CFL reflectors. The line includes PAR20, PAR30 and dimmable MR16 styles available in warm and cool Kelvin temperatures, and in standard and GU5.3 bases. Dimmable LEDs in A19 and PAR38 styles are scheduled for introduction later this year.
