Wiremold lab bench table box meets UL spill standard

November 5, 2013 | By Alyssa Dalton

November 5, 2013 – Legrand has introduced a pedestal-style outlet box designed specifically for laboratory benches. The Wiremold lab bench pedestal table boxes claim to provide increased capacity and access to multiple services in a variety of configurations to meet the demanding needs of laboratory activity, and can be divided into two gangs that have the capacity to wire a 15A, 20A, GFCI, or a 30A twist lock receptacle.

A removable divider enables the box to contain multiple services like data/communications and audio/video, says Legrand. When installed with specific Pass & Seymour receptacles, these boxes meet UL 111, the proposed standard for multi-outlet assemblies, which includes a spill test, as well as the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) listing for work surfaces and UL 514A for metallic outlet boxes.
