January 27, 2024 – Energy Plug Technologies Corp. will be working with Ximen Mining to provide a two-phase clean power storage and generation project that stabilizes, supports, and powers the infrastructure at Kenville Gold Mine in Nelson, B.C.

The first phase involves the installation of three 10-kW lithium-iron-phosphate storage batteries connected to solar panels to power three buildings.

The second phase will include the installation of a 1-MW BESS designed to accommodate large compressors, ventilation, and lighting for the mine site. It will also include a 20-kW riverside turbine for power generation.

The initiative, says Energy Plug, will provide Ximen with “green” infrastructure that helps reduce the mine’s use of diesel, saves money on electricity because of the battery energy storage system (BESS), and helps ensure there is no downtime during power outages.
