October 30, 2014 – Appleton has broadened its Mercmaster LED enclosed and gasketed explosion-proof luminaire series to include new versions promising a cost-effective replacement of 350W and 400W pulse-start MH, and 400W HPS fixtures.

The luminaires promise to withstand harsh industrial environments without compromising illumination or reliability. Suggested applications include hazardous and non-hazardous locations in oil refineries, pulp & paper mills, foundries, general manufacturing plants, and marinas. With a service life of 60,000 hours, plus instant-on lighting and silent operation, the luminaires feature NEMA 4X-rated housings, guards and mounting hoods manufactured from copper-free cast aluminum and protected by an epoxy powder coat, and come in a variety of mounting options.
