Telvent will supply its Distribution Management System (DMS) to BC Hydro. The utility’s electric distribution operation is headquartered in Vancouver, and serves 1.8 million customers. Telvent’s integrated, scalable DMS solution aims to enhance BC Hydro’s ability “to provide safe, secure and reliable energy supply to its customers particularly during major storms or unusual events”.

“BC Hydro’s selection reinforces the market position of Telvent’s
solutions,” stated Manuel Sanchez, Telvent’s chair and CEO.
“Implementing Telvent DMS allows for the future integration of
distribution generation and green energy resources into its distribution
grid.”

As part of the project, Telvent’s DMS and OASyS DNA SCADA system will be
integrated as a single solution to allow BC Hydro to enable new system
devices—as well as optimize the distribution grid—to reduce system
losses.
