May 26, 2020 – In this episode of “Canadians Standing Up to COVID”, Anthony Capkun is joined by Ben Parcero, operations manager with Ideal Industries (Canada) Corp. in Ajax, Ont. Like other providers of goods for essential workers—like electricians—Ideal’s facility in Ajax, Ont., remained an active workplace when the COVID crisis began.

Besides making sure they and the remaining Ideal family stayed safe, the folks in Ajax felt like they could be doing more. Ben Parcero, operations manager, explains how an idea for making face shields—which started organically in the plant—was embraced by the entire operation, and extended outside their walls into the community.

“We wanted to reach out to the community and see how we could do some good, helping others out as we all struggle through this,” says Ben. “If we can help out, we’re going to.”
