Caterpillar’s C27 diesel genset meets Environmental Protection Agency Tier 4 Interim emissions standards, and is designed for standby, prime and load management applications. The ratings for this 60Hz package are 800ekW (standby) and 725ekW (prime), offering “highly competitive service intervals, fuel consumption rates and power density”. Engine features include an ADEM A4 controller, Air-To-Air After Cooler (ATAAC) cooling system and MEUI fuel system. The C27’s design promises added reliability, consistent performance and fuel economy. The self-excited, random-wound generator provides a UL 1446-recognized Class H insulation system. It features IP23 protection rating, Cat Digital Voltage Regulator (CDVR) with VAR/PF control, winding temperature detectors and 2/3 pitch stator winding. This genset also includes Caterpillar’s latest controller, the EMCP 4. Along with its scalable platform, it allows greater configuration options to meet unique installation needs (i.e. improved communication with SCADA systems, Modbus, RS-485 and ethernet).
